Common problems and solutions of straight line edge grinding machine

With the commissioning of the glass edging machine, issues such as mechanical wear and tear, poor maintenance, etc., will lead to various situations in glass edging. Next, I briefly introduce common problems and their solutions based on my personal experience:

I. The ground glass has uneven thickness (large and small ends). After the machine has been in use a while, it may become unlevel. The specific reasons are as follows:
1. Caused by soft foundation. A cement foundation that has not been compacted cannot bear self-weight of the main machine, causing it to sink and become unlevel. The foundation needs to be compacted, and the machine body leveled.
2. Caused by glass support feet not being fixed. When edging large glass, it is easy to shift, leading to differences in levelness. The support needs to be calibrated.
3. conveyor chain grips the glass unevenly. For machines in long-term use, if only a small part of the conveyor chain rubber blocks are replaced, the mixed use of new old blocks with height differences will cause the ground glass to have uneven thickness. All rubber blocks must be replaced, or the entire conveyor chain should be replaced.
4. The conveyor causes unlevelness. The conveyor chain at the glass inlet and the one at the glass outlet are not in a straight line (not level) with the front and rear pressure. First, adjust the height of the guide rail at the glass inlet (which can be achieved by adjusting the travel screw rod below the guide rail), so that the 250mm long glass can be transported on the conveyor chain of the guide rail from start to finish during edging (after the glass enters the pressure plate by 40cm, two places: whether the glass on the conveyor chain below the pressure plate and the glass on the conveyor chain on the right side of the machine are still touching the conveyor chain). the glass on the conveyor chain below the pressure plate lifts off the chain, the travel screw on the A-frame on the right side needs to be lowered until it is level if the tail of the glass on the conveyor chain on the right side of the machine curls up (lifts off), the travel screw on the A-frame on the right side needs be raised until it is level. The leveling adjustment of the conveyor chain on the left side of the machine follows the same principle.

II. The ends or the middle cannot polished. The inability to polish the ends is mainly caused by the displacement of the sprocket on the rear bone row at the glass inlet, which causes the glass to shift as it forward. First, disassemble the machine sleeves at both ends, and calibrate the height and angle of the two sprockets at the glass outlet, ensuring they are consistent with the tworockets on the gearbox. The inability to polish the middle or poor polishing is caused by the front and rear pressure plates being too loose, which causes the glass to sink during grinding leading to excessive grinding in the middle of the glass, thus resulting in the middle being unpolishable or insufficiently polished. Simply disassemble the machine casing and tighten the clamping plate chain
